Silliness as a weapon of mass conjunction

One of the most powerful tools for creating High Strangeness is silliness, spontaneity, drama, and performative, ostentatious seriousness (which is really just like silliness cloaked in garb).

Why? Well, my dear boi, it’s because these things disrupt the perfunctory staleness of everyday life and disturb the waters of non-magickal consciousness.

Drama and silliness trigger our brains out of autopilot and back into active engagement with the world around us, catapulting us back into co-creation mode. They also, when deployed correctly, have the ability to draw those around us out of dull mundanity and into fantastical worlds of individual agency that we’re all co-creating together all the time—usually while having completely forgotten that we’re creating them at all.

This is where things get serious. And here is where I drop the irony and camp so I can look you in your precious little eyes and convey a profound and earth-shattering truth that you absolutely cannot afford not to take seriously.

A battle for human consciousness is being waged right now. It is being waged on all fronts—in our everyday lives as well as on a national and global scale.

This might sound crazy (and you chose to read a pamphlet on magick so maybe you should watch your tone!!) but the forces contributing to racism, homophobia, sexism, colonialism, and genocide are the exact same forces trying to keep you from fighting back with the weapon of silliness and creating High Strangeness in your everyday life.

These acts of violence and brutality are a direct result of the shortage of spontaneity and silliness in the world. They’re a result of feeling out-of-contact with our Desire, our Aliveness.
