(Hey there, friend! This is a multi-part series. If you want to start from the beginning, just click here. If you’re looking for the previous installment, click here.)
The most seemingly exciting part of doing magick to unite with your Godself is the part where you actually summon them. But sometimes, to tell you the truth, it’s just anti-climactic. Because sometimes, the way our psyches process things is incredibly boring. We aren’t creating a cinematic masterpiece in our minds, we’re rolling up to the Void to see what greets us there.
Please, for everyone’s sake, don’t expect it to make sense.
The Self you’re about to meet is a many-tentacled, many-headed cthonic organism that defies convenient encapsulation. Just like you! We want to avoid solidifying it—so hold it soft in your hands like a baby squid. You don’t want to crush it. Or worse—restrict its emergence and expression.
Remember, you’re not constructing a Self, you’re co-creating it—with your unconscious and the spirit guides you’ve attracted by defining the experience you want to call in. (The thing we did at the end of the last section) Be open-minded and work with what you’re given rather than allowing your conscious mind to drive the process. If your new Self doesn’t show up like you expected, avoid jumping to analyze them and allow them to reveal themself to you.
For all you know, the character you meet might only be a jumping off point—a stepping stone to an even cooler, more powerful, more aligned version of Self. But initially, you gotta travel into the Void and accept what’s on offer just like the rest of us. There’s a lesson for you somewhere in there.
Now, let’s get down to business.
